Known in Japan as Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai – Ultra Romantic -, the third season of Kaguya-sama will continue the story established in the first two seasons. The anime adapts Aka Akasaka’s manga of the same name, serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine. The premise takes a comedic approach to high-stakes flirting. At the prestigious and high-performing Shuchiin Academy, every student is elite. At the top of this pyramid reside Student Council President Miyuki Shirogane and Vice-President Kaguya Shinomiya. The two like each other, but can’t bring themselves to admit it out of pride, leading to many schemes to make the other confess instead. The manga has 231 chapters in print, collected into 23 volumes.

The announcement also confirmed that much of the staff and cast would return. A-1 Pictures (Fate/Grand Order: Camelot films, Sword Art Online) will animate the show, with Director Mamoru Hatakeyama back at the helm. Aoi Koga, Makoto Furukawa, Konomi Kohara, and Ryota Suzuki will all return to voice Kaguya, Miyuki, Chika, and Yuu, respectively.

The announcement of Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 3 was accompanied by a full adaptation of chapter 110: “Yuu Ishigami Wants To Talk About It.” The preview was uploaded to the Aniplex YouTube channel in Japanese. In it, Miyuki and Yuu get into discussing the impending third-season anime adaptation of their favorite manga. When Kaguya and Chika arrive, though, a crisis ensues over whether or not to “nerd out” in front of the girls.

Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 3 will debut in April 2022. Currently no overseas licenses have been announced. The first two seasons are available on various streaming services, including Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Netflix based on region.
