Re-licensing for a new audience

Back in the NES days Capcom held exclusive rights to all Disney titles in the USA and who’s to argue with them after successful games like Ducktales. However, Kemco-Sekia ran into some problems after developing Roger Rabbit for the Famicom. Just how were they going to bring this to the USA when Capcom held Disney licenses with an iron fist. They could go the licensing route like Hudson did for Mickey Mousecapade or redo the games with new characters. That’s how Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle came about and over at Wikipedia the entire history of Kemco’s character games are chronicled. Can you believe that Snoopy’s Silly Sports Spectacular actually starred Donald Duck? Or even stranger the creepy Kid Klown game was actually a Mickey Mouse title. Maybe Nintendo could pull the same trick with Jump Superstars. Share a licensing agreement with one company (perhaps Bandai) and then edit the character list accordingly with other anime stars.
