Alongside the announcement of the title, a brief story synopsis was released. Van Arkride will return as the protagonist of this entry in the series. It will take place after the elimination of the Armata. The Republic of Calvard is finally in a state of peace. However, things abruptly begin to change after a strange incident in Edith City occurs, which sees a CID operations squad massacred.
