Before 2021 ended, SNK decided to update the KOF XV website with a story looking at why Antonov, King of Dinosaurs, and Ramon are on Team Galaxy Anton Wrestling (G.A.W.) together. In short, it’s because all three are wrestlers. Not to mention after the events of the last game, Antonov needed to create a new business.
The backstory begins with a quick explanation as to what happened to Antonov and Yakov between games. From there, it jumps to Antonov established in his new G.A.W. office with his latest hires, King of Dinosaurs and Ramon. Yakov does express concern and ask if the luchadors are okay with leaving Mexico and transferring. However, King of Dinosaurs noted, “Pro wrestling doesn’t have borders anymore.” After that, Antonov, King of Dinosaurs, and Ramon confirm they are heading to the next tournament in KOF XV.
SNK keeps adding KOF XV team story updates. Prior to Team G.A.W., it showed why Athena, Mai, and Yuri are working together on Team Super Heroine. Before that, the focus was on Team Secret Agent members Blue Mary, Luong, and Vanessa. Not every backstory is out there yet, though. For example, we still need to hear about Team K’s roots.
KOF XV will appear on February 17, 2022 on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
