Ghost of Tsushima Sales Pass 8 Million

There’s a new update on Ghost of Tsushima sales. During its CES 2022 presentation, Sony confirmed it passed eight million copies sold. The game originally launched on the PS4 back in July 2020.

This is the first Ghost of Tsushima sales update in almost a year. Back in November 2020, Sony confirmed it passed five million copies moved in its first four months on the market. Then when the movie adaptation was announced in March 2021, Sony confirmed it passed the six and a half million milestone.

Since that March 2021 announcement, another version of Ghost of Tsushima appeared. Sucker Punch released a Director’s Cut. This included the Iki Island expansion. It involved a whole new storyline to complement the original. Ankhsar “The Eagle” Khatun and her tribe took over the island. In facing her, Jin Sakai encounters a whole new challenge and learns more about his own past.

Since its launch, Ghost of Tsushima won multiple awards and honors. It earned the Japan Game Awards 2021 Grand Award alongside Monster Hunter Rise. It also picked up two CEDEC 2021 awards for sound and visual arts.

Ghost of Tsushima is available on the PS4. Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut is also available for the PS4 and PS5.
