NetLab from ITmedia released the results of its Yakuza: Like a Dragon popularity poll. This is not an official poll from Sega. Between January 5-12, 2022, people could vote on their favorite party member. Because this poll only focused on party members, characters such as Masumi Arakawa or Nick Ogata were off-limits.
Here is the list, in ascending order, of the most popular Yakuza: Like a Dragon characters based on the results of the popularity poll:

A total of 2102 people voted during the January 5-12, 2022 window. In comparison, almost 50,000 people voted for their favorite SSR Servant in Fate/Grand Order on another NetLab poll. According to the voters’ comments, the contrast between Zhao’s initial appearance and his actual personality is what made them vote for him. As for Kasuga, the voters liked his cheery charisma and his multitude of funny scenes. They also enjoyed his scenes with Masato Arakawa.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon came out in 2020 as the latest entry of the Yakuza series. It follows the story of new protagonist Ichiban Kasuga, and is the first Yakuza game to have a turn-based RPG combat system. According to an interview with RGG Studio director Masayoshi Yokoyama, Yakuza 8 will take place years after 7. However, there is some ambiguity as to when the game will come out and if it will still follow Kasuga’s story.
Yakuza 7: Like a Dragon is readily available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
