The different elements change things like difficulty, in-race potential hazards, and what you can expect to encounter. For example, both the Class and CPU settings influence the challenge. You could set the class to things like “beginner” or choose how capable the AI racers will be. You can determine if Magicite appear. (These are essentially power-ups to help yourself or hurt fellow racers.) You can also determine how many races there will be and if you choose which course you run for each one.

As for racing in preset ways in Chocobo GP, Square Enix also explained how unlocking will work there. In another tweet, it confirmed getting first, second, or third in a Series Races can mean more series will be available. The screenshot for that also showed FFIX‘s Steiner in first place and Vivi in second.

Square Enix’s shared quite a few details about racing in Chocobo GP ahead of launch. For example, it went over how unlocking in the story mode will work. It also confirmed a trial version will be released alongside the full version.

Chocobo GP will appear on the Nintendo Switch worldwide on March 10, 2022. There is also a free Chocobo GP’ game for Android and Apple iOS devices. That’s an action game starring a Chocobo and Moogle.
