The game is made up of three segments. The first segment will be a live-action murder scene with real actors. The player must then gather evidence and draw conclusions based on it. Finally, the story’s outcome will change depending on whether the player guesses the correct series of events. There will be a total of four murder mysteries to solve.

The Nintendo Direct trailer for the game briefly goes over each segment of the game. The deduction portion, in particular, features a unique selection menu that allows players to drag and drop notable evidence to solve cases.
