In the Japanese tweet, the team hinted that the sequel will star Hana Asakura, the son of Anna and Yoh Asakura. The video’s narrator declared that it will tell the story of next-generation Shamans. Sketches of several characters slated to appear in the sequel also show up near the end of the trailer.

Shaman King originated as manga series that ran in Weekly Jump from 1998 to 2004 with a total of 300 chapters. The title had its first anime show by Xebec in 2001. Bridge Inc. made a newer anime adaptation that aired in April 2021 and lasted a whole year with 52 episodes. The new show is also available to watch worldwide on Netflix.

The series creator Hiroyuki Takei made Shaman King: Flowers as a sequel starring Hana Asakura in 2012. It ran in the Jump X magazine until the latter’s publication ceased in October 2014. Kodansha had compiled the manga into six tankobon volumes and published the English version in 2020.

The Shaman King sequel anime is under production. The project team has yet to confirm whether Shaman King: Flowers will serve as a basis for the new anime show or not.
