Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War Anime to Debut in January

A The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War anime will start airing in January 2023. Several cast members from the game, including the actors for Rean and Altina, will return to reprise their roles. The anime will take place between the second and third games and feature an original plot. [Thanks, Crunchyroll!]

During the announcement from Tatsunoko Production, it also revealed some new characters and voice actors who will debut in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War anime. The cast list announced is:

  • Rean Schwarzer: Kouki Uchiyama (Roxas in Kingdom Hearts)
  • Altina Orion: Inori Minase (Hestia in Danmachi)
  • Glark Grommash: Haruhiko Jo (Scar, Barbossa in Kingdom Hearts)
  • Jayna Storm: Mie Sonozaki (Sora Shiunin in Yu-Gi-Oh Arc-V)
  • Rogan Mugart: Takayuki Kondo (Agate Crosner in The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky)
  • Ivano: Jun Fukushima (Naruko in Yowamushi Pedal)
  • Tak: Ryuichi Kijima (Mitsuki in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations)

They will be joining other voice actors like Sarah Emi Bridcutt, Yuichi Nakamura, and Yuki Ono.

The anime originally had a 2022 release date. However, Tatsunoko Production revealed that it would delay the release window to 2023. It did not give a precise reason as to why.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War anime is in production and will come out in January 2023.
