XSEED Games announced some new information regarding Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed for more modern consoles. There will be a Director’s Cut expanded edition for the Nintendo Switch that will come out in 2023. This will come with the Kati’s Route DLC. The Kati’s Route DLC will be available as a separate purchase for those with the PS4 or PC version.
So far, the only main difference between the base game of Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed and the Director’s Cut is the addition of Kati’s Route. It will be fully voiced and it will star Kati, who is a Finnish exchange student and part-time maid. Acquire first announced this upcoming Kati’s Route DLC in June 2022. Her story is the “True End” of the game. Outside of Kati’s Route, the Director’s Cut will have some new side quests, weapons, and armor.
Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed is an action game that originally came out in 2013. In Akihabara, vampiric creatures called Synthisters are feeding on the life energy of hapless otaku. Nanashi, the protagonist, also turns into one but Synthister hunter Shizuku saves him with a kiss. With Shizuku, Nanashi has to save Akihabara. The method? Strip people down to their underwear to expose them to the sun. And yes, even when the game originally came out, the Internet had a field day when it learned about the game’s premise.
Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed Director’s Cut will come out in 2023, and the Kati’s Route DLC will be available for PS4 and PC players then as well.
