How to Get a Secondary Job in Octopath Traveler 2

How to Get a Secondary Job in Octopath Traveler 2

In Octopath Traveler 2, each main character is capable of equipping a main and secondary job. However, you can’t immediately pick one up. The additional class requires you to first visit certain locations around the world in order to get the license for it. However, once you do, you can then add that extra job as a character’s secondary job.

We’ll use the Scholar secondary job as an example in Octopath Traveler 2. It is Osvald’s primary job. However, in the upper left corner of the Western Winterbloom Snows map, you can find the building that grants the license for the Scholar secondary job. Once you get that, a character who is in the party and doesn’t hold that primary job can equip it as an additional job.

So if this is given to Temenos, who is normally a Cleric, he will then gain that role and its abilities. He can then put the Job Points he’s earned either toward his primary role or that additional one. Those additional skills from that secondary job will be available to the person when that role is also equipped. However, the Support Skills you get as a bonus for learning abilities from jobs carry over and are present even when the job you earned them from isn’t equipped.

Octopath Traveler 2 is available for the Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC. A demo is available.
