New Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi Announced

Bandai Namco announced a new Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi game is on the way. It revealed a teaser trailer for the next installment at the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour 2022/2023 Finals on March 5, 2023. It didn’t note which platforms it will appear on. There is also no release date yet.

First, here’s the teaser trailer as captured by GamersPrey. It first shows Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi playing on a CRT. Then, it shows new footage of Goku transforming into his Super Saiyan Blue form.

Here’s the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour 2022/2023 Finals stream.

There were four Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi games prior to this new one. However, three were mainline entries and Tenkaichi Tag Team was a 2v2 PSP spin-off. The third entry appeared on both the PS2 and Wii back in 2007, meaning its been about 16 years since a mainline installment in the series appeared. Spike was the developer on all four games.

Bandai Namco is working on a new Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi game. It didn’t note which platforms it will appear on yet or offer a release window. The last mainline entry, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi, appeared on the PS2 and Wii.
