Autumn Games announced that the final official release date for the Black Dahlia DLC character in Skullgirls 2nd Encore will be very soon. She’ll come out on March 29, 2023 for the PC and PS4 versions of the game. As for those on the Nintendo Switch, they’ll be able to download her on March 31, 2023.
Development on Black Dahlia started in 2022, with early builds of her character appearing at events and as DLC. Her alpha trailer showed that she can use bullets as part of her combos, though they do not seem to have much range or zoning capabilities. Black Dahlia can also run out of these bullets, which require her to reload.

Black Dahlia draws inspiration from the real-life unsolved murder of Elizabeth Short, or “Black Dahlia” as she was posthumously called. Autumn Games has also seemed to use Hol Horse (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure) and BB Hood (Darkstalkers) as some of their inspirations for her gameplay. In terms of the lore, Black Dahlia is a member of the Medici Mafia. She previously showed up in Peacock and Squigly’s stories.
Skullgirls 2nd Encore is available on the PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC via Steam. Black Dahlia will appear in Skullgirls 2nd Encore as a DLC character on March 29, 2023 for Steam and PS4 players, and March 31, 2023 for Nintendo Switch players.
