Final Fantasy XVI Original Soundtrack Release Date Falls in July 2023

Square Enix announced the Japanese Final Fantasy XVI Original Soundtrack release date. The CDs will debut on July 19, 2023. Both standard and Ultimate editions will be available. The standard version will be ¥6,000 (~$44). The ultimate one is ¥7,800 (~$57). There’s also an official website for it. The site notes the theme song by Kenshi Yonezu isn’t included.

The difference between the two soundtracks involves how many CDs there are, the packaging, and how extensive the booklet is. The standard one has seven CDs and a booklet with no artwork. The Ultimate version includes artwork in its booklet and an eighth CD with cutscene music.

Here’s a closer look at the standard and ultimate editions of the soundtrack.

Final Fantasy XVI Composer Masayoshi Soken, who also created the FFXIV soundtrack, also shared the news. In his confirmation, he noted it’s being done at Bernie Grundman Mastering with Yasuji Maeda. He noted that the team is still working on it.

This is the second round of merchandise recently announced. Sony and Square Enix recently announced a Final Fantasy XVI PS5 bundle, controller, and console cover.

Final Fantasy XVI will come to the PlayStation 5 on June 22, 2023. There will be a six-month exclusivity period. The Final Fantasy XVI Original Soundtrack release date is July 19, 2023 in Japan, and we don’t know when worldwide orders will open for it.
