So… when and at what time can someone start playing The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

Helpfully, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launch is at midnight in most territories. This is connected to your time zone, so it’s midnight regardless of where you live.

There is an exception though. In North America, the game is getting a simultaneous release across all time zones. This means that while players on the East Coast have to wait until midnight to play Tears of the Kingdom, players on the West Coast will get access to the game at 9pm. This means players in LA don’t have to worry about potential spoilers on social media from players in New York!

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be seeing a midnight launch event in the Nintendo Store in New York City. Reservations have all been taken, however, so those who weren’t able to book their place can tune into the official livestream instead.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom releases on Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.
