What to Do with Opals in Tears of the Kingdom

As you guide Link through saving Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll both find and be given Opals. I ended up with 15 at one point and had no clue how I’d obtained half of them. If your pockets are lined with Opals, too, here’s what to do with them.

So what do I do with my Opals in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

You can use Opals in Tears of the Kingdom in two ways. The first and most obvious is that you can simply sell them. There’s no need to carry extra weight around when money is to be made, right? Take them to a vendor. My go-to is Mubs at Lookout Landing because she’s easy to access quickly. You can sell your Opals for 30 Rupees a piece.

Alternatively, you can Fuse an Opal to a weapon to boost its attack. This is perfect for boss fights or Test of Power combat Shrines, where that stat bonus can go a long way. To do so, drop an Opal on the ground and equip Link’s Fuse ability. Hover over the Opal, and add it to the tip of your weapon by pressing the Y button. It also shoots out balls of water when you swing, adding an element of range.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available now exclusively on Nintendo Switch. If you’re looking for a horse, here’s how to find one.
