According to the Guinness World Records, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the world’s fastest-selling Nintendo title to date. At the same time, it is also the fastest-selling Legend of Zelda video game of all time. Tears of the Kingdom sold 10 million copies in three days. This number includes both physical and digital versions around the world. That would make for a difference of about 2.83 million copies per day between the two in the given periods. Tears of the Kingdom is making Zelda history as we speak.
Tears of the Kingdom is the direct sequel to Breath of the Wild, which was also an amazingly popular entry to the The Legend of Zelda series. Even those who are not fans of the series may come across videos of players showing off their various contraptions and constructs in the game. It’s likely that those who purchased the game include those who did not play the first one, but became interested in it through word of mouth.
