This week, we’ll see the Boruto manga return in chapter 81 with the Two Blue Vortex timeskip. The new chapter will appear on August 20, 2023. People will be able to read it for free on MangaPlus and Viz Media’s official sites. It also means we’ll get to see the Boruto timeskip look in action for the first time.
There’s been quite a gap between chapters. Back in April 2023, a three month hiatus was announced. Chapter 80 of the Boruto manga appeared back on April 18, 2023, and it is still available to read for free on both MangaPlus and Viz ahead of the debut of chapter 81. This allows people to catch up with what happened before the cliffhanger.
Ahead of the new release, we did get a peek at how Boruto looks after the timeskip. The cover for the V-Jump magazine showing the older version of the character already appeared online. Viz Media also released a new piece of art highlighting his appearance.
