Sega shared new character artwork and screenshots from Persona 3 Reload. The character artworks include the protagonist, Yukari, and Junpei, as well as the updated looks of various Social Link characters. The new Persona 3 Reload screenshots show the social parameters, Iwatodai Dorm life, the protagonist’s PC, and the development of party member’s Theurgia and Personality traits.
The main protagonist of Persona 3 Reload uses a one-handed sword as his weapon. His initial Persona is Orpheus, which allows him to use his signature Cadenza Theurgia skill. The Wild Card ability allows the protagonist to use other Persona, as well as multiple Theurgia skills.
Yukari Takeba’s weapon is a bow. Her Persona is Io, and she specializes in Wind and Recovery skills. Io’s Theurgia skill is Cyclone Arrow, which deals massive Wind damage to a single enemy and ignores element affinity.
Junpei Iori’s specializes in two-handed swords. His Persona Hermes specializes in Fire and Slash attacks. Hermes’ Theurgia skill is called Burst Swing, which deals massive Slash damage to a single enemy, and ignores element affinity as well.
During daily life, players will be required to use the protagonist’s social skills, which include three parameters: Academics, Charm, and Courage. These can be leveled up by participating in daily social situations, such as part-time jobs or studying for upcoming tests. If players don’t have enouch levels on social stats, they might be unable to use certain facilities of continue their Social Links.
At the Iwatodai Dorm, players will be able to use common facilities to cook, watch DVDs, read books, study, tend to the dorm’s rooftop garden, and spend time with friends. By spending time with friends, players will enhance the protagonist’s social skills, and may be able to acquire skills called Traits that will be useful in battle. Examples include increasing the rate of critical attacks, or reducing the SP cost of recovery skills.
Characters can have more than one Trait, and they are related to the use of Theurgia skills. The communal PCs can be used to enhance social parameters, as well as learn useful skills for combat and exploration.
The updated renders shown for Social Link characters include Kenji Tomochika (Magician Arcana), Nozomi Suemitsu (Moon Arcana), Kazushi Miyamoto (Chariot Arcana), Yuko Nishiwaki (Strength Arcana), Hidetoshi Odagiri (Emperor Arcana), Chihiro Fushimi (Justice Arcana), Keisuke Hiraga (Fortune Arcana), and Andre Laurent Jean Geraux, also known as Bebe (Temperance Arcana).
Persona 3 Reload will come out on February 2, 2024 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam.
