In their 2007 fiscal report Capcom pledged to increase their support for the Wii and the Nintendo DS. Capcom plans to ship six Wii games and fourteen Nintendo DS games between April 1, 2007 and March 31, 2008. Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, Sengoku Basara 2 Heroes, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles and Zack & Wiki: Quest for Barbaros’ Treasure were already announced for the Wii, which leaves two more unannounced games. Besides the six Wii games Capcom also plans to release five Playstation 3 and six Xbox 360 titles within the same time period. These numbers pale in comparison to the 23 Playstation 2 games Capcom plans to publish with in their 2008 fiscal year. While the 23 games include Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law and a handful of budget priced CapKore remakes, the Playstation 2 is still getting a fair amount of support from Capcom due to its massive install base. Long live the Playstation 2?
