A look at Nintendo’s new channel: Everybody Votes

This article is over 17 years old and may contain outdated information

Nintendo released a brand new channel in Japan the Minna de Tohyo channel (Everybody Votes) where people can answer a yes or no question. Once you make your choices they are sent to a bigger database through Wii Connect 24. The first question on the list is asking what kind of noodles do you prefer udon or soba. (note: it looks like the Japanese questions are different than the USA ones). Once enough people answer a question you can browse how people are voting around Japan and supposedly the world, but since the channel just got online there is not enough data to show. It’s going to be really interesting to see what happens when Nintendo brings this channel worldwide. International social experiment or is this a cleverly disguised marketing tool?

This question is asking do you like dogs or cats more? Is Nintendo using this data to see if Nintencats is going to be popular?
