ACA NeoGeo Samurai Shodown IV Comes To North American Nintendo Switches

This week there aren’t any official Virtual Console games coming to any North American Nintendo platforms. However, the Nintendo Switch has received another entry in the ACA NeoGeo line. ACA NeoGeo Samurai Shodown IV is now available in the eShop.

Samurai Shodown IV: Amakusa’s Revenge came to arcades, the Neo Geo, and the Neo Geo CD in 1996. It’s the fourth entry in the series, but its story is set between the events of Samurai Shodown III and Samurai Shodown II. There are 17 playable characters, with Charlotte, Jubei, and Tam Tam returning for this installment and Kazuki and Sogetsu making their debuts. This entry introduced a CD Combo, an honorable death move that would let you forfeit the round in exchange for a full Anger gauge at the start of the next round, and a single player mode where you had eight minutes to reach Amakusa’s castle and earn the good ending.

ACA NeoGeo Samurai Shodown IV is $7.99 in the Nintendo eShop.
