Accel World vs. Sword Art Online Uses Sword Art Online: Lost Song’s ALO As A Base

Bandai Namco shared the latest on Accel World vs. Sword Art Online in Japanese video game magazines this week, with info on how the game takes place in ALO, and more from the upcoming crossover. [Thanks, Hachima.]

According to the magazine report, Accel World vs. Sword Art Online takes place in the world of ALfheim Online, where you’ll also get to freely fly around as you did in the world of Sword Art Online: Lost Song.

An emergency maintenance was announced in the world of ALO where Kirito and the others have been adventuring. Something felt off about Yui as she took off, and when Kirito and Asuna went after her, they’re assaulted by a mysterious dark mechanic humanoid avatar that goes by the name “Black Lotus.”

Here’s a list of characters that have been revealed for the game thus far:

  • Kirito (CV: Yoshitsugu Matsuoka)
  • Asuna (CV: Haruka Tomatsu)
  • Lisbeth (CV: Ayahi Takagaki)
  • Silica (CV: Rina Hidaka)
  • Black Lotus (CV: Sachikawa Misawa)
  • Silver Crow (CV: Yuki Kaji)
  • Lime Bell (CV: Aki Toyosaki)
  • Scarlet Rain (CV: Rina Hidaka)

The battle system is called “GS (Ground-Sky) Active Change Battle” where you’ll get to switch between members of a 3-man party, run on the grounds, and fly through the skies in real-time battle. A screenshot shows a party of Kirito, Asuna, and Silver Crow flying in the sky as a party of three.

Accel World vs. Sword Art Online releases in Japan in 2017 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. We’ll learn more about the game and see the latest of it during a live stream that takes place on December 7 at 8:00pm JST.
