Ace Combat 7 Devs Talk About Implementing VR Into The Flight Simulator

Recommended Videos

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown developers take us behind the scenes in a new video with some in depth talk about the challenge of implementing VR that took the game to another level of flight combat.

According to Brand Director Kazutoki Kono, implementing VR fell into place quite naturally. It’s something the team has been wanting to do for a while, and they got producer Jun Tamaoki, who has plenty of knowledge in the area, as the new VR producer.

Tamaoki joined in its early stage when the VR Mode concept had just been put into motion, with the VR function simply tacked on to the Ace Combat engine. Not knowing how to deal with motion sensitivity and ideas on making VR fun was some of the many challenges.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown releases for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 18, 2019. It releases for PC on February 1, 2019.
