Sony passed on publishing Afrika outside of Asia, but the safari photo hunt game will get a domestic release from everyone’s favorite Harvest Moon publisher, Natsume.
Rhino Studios spent four years developing Afrika before it was released in Japan last year. In the game players take missions, sneak behind lions, and snap photos. Capturing Kodak moments also unlocks information about the wildlife provided by National Geographic.
An English version popped up in Asia too under the name Hakuna Matata. It’s unclear if Natsume’s release is based on the existing English translation from Sony Computer Entertainment Asia’s or not. Afrika isn’t Natsume’s only safari game either. They also picked up Amazing Animals from Success, a Wii game based on a Japanese TV show, which will come out stateside under the name Animal Kingdom: Wildlife Expedition this summer.
Update: Natsume clarified Afrika’s release window. Expect to see this game in stores this fall.
