Aliens: Fireteam Will Be a Third-Person, Team-based Shooter

aliens: fireteam

The next Aliens game is on the way called Aliens: Fireteam. It seems like it will follow more in the footsteps of Aliens: Colonial Marines than Alien: Isolation. It will be a team-based, third-person shooter where people in a squad of real or AI allies fight multiple Synthetic and Xenomorph enemies. People will be able to play in Summer 2021.

Here’s how it will work. Like Aliens: Colonial Marines, it will abandon the subtlety and one-on-one encounter of Alien: Isolation for hordes of enemies. It will take place after the movies and involve “waves” of 20 kinds of opponents during its four campaigns. Your character will be a customizable marine who could be a Demolisher, Doc, Gunner, Recon, or Technician unit. As you play, you can choose your build via a Perk Board and customizable weapons. Each of the four campaigns’ missions also can be customized with Challenge Cards.

Here’s the first trailer, which offers a peek at gameplay. Both story segments and waves of attacks against Xenomorphs and Synthetics are shown.

Aliens: Fireteam will come to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PCs via Steam. Previously, the last recent release was the 2019 Nintendo Switch port of Alien: Isolation.
