Alim announced that it will shut down all three Brave Frontier mobile games in Japan on April 25, 2022. Brave Frontier is a free-to-play mobile RPG that first appeared in 2013. The title used to receive crossover characters from many notable franchises, such as Secret of Mana, The King of Fighters, and My Hero Academia. It also has a global version released in the same year. As of this writing, gumi Asia is still actively managing the global release with regular maintenances.
Alim released the sequel Brave Frontier 2 in 2018, while still keeping the first game intact. gumi also released an overseas-exclusive title Brave Frontier: The Last Summoner in September 2018. However, it shut down the latter in less than a year in July 2019.
Most recently, Alim released Brave Frontier ReXona in September 2021. While the first title will have lasted for around nine years, ReXona will only have a lifespan of seven months.
Brave Frontier, its sequel Brave Frontier 2, and the newest title Brave Frontier ReXona are available on Android and iOS mobile devices in Japan until April 25, 2022.
