Amazon issued a statement on the future of its Luna game service, and as part of that it noted that it will discontinue individual game purchases and third-party subscriptions, which means any titles people own will be inaccessible after June 10, 2026. As part of this move, the Bring Your Own Library function and Jackbox Games and Ubisoft+ subscriptions will no longer be supported. Amazon also said there will be no refunds, though it will dole out Luna Premium subscriptions to those who qualify. As part of this change, Luna Standard and Luna Premium will be the only options available.

Amazon explained this decision is due to the company prioritizing Prime members and subscription owners. While the store is now closed and third-party support is gone, some of those elements can be used until June 10, 2026. The Jackbox Games subscription and Ubisoft+ will be available until that date, and if you subscribed through Amazon those will automatically cancel. A-la-carte games bought through EA, GOG, and Ubisoft will still be available direct through them if you log into your account. Bring Your Own Library support ends that day too. All game save data will be available until September 8, 2026 via the settings section.

As for the remaining subscriptions, there are two options. Luna Standard is the one included with Prime. That features a smaller collection of possible games to play. If someone pays $9.99 per month, they gain access to Luna Premium and its larger streaming game library. Amazon didn’t note how long the complementary Luna Premium subscription being given out to affected current game owners will last. It did note people who qualify will get an email around June 10, 2026.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a company conduct such a major shutdown of this sort of service. Google did that with Stadia. However, it did refund purchases and release an update for its dedicated controllers that would allow them to be used after the service ended.

Amazon Luna a-la-carte game purchases are now over, and owned games, Bring Your Own Library support, Jackbox Games subscription, and Ubisoft+ will only be available until June 10, 2026.
