Angelic shmup, Baroque Shooting

While we’re on the subject of Sting, let’s unearth one of their more obscure titles. No, I’m not talking about the Evolution RPG series, which Ubisoft localized for North America. Back in 2000, Sting took the twisted dungeon crawler Baroque and changed it into a vertical shmup. In Baroque Shooting players guide an angel with bony wings across a field of flying fish. (Note: The fish are called moon and they appear in the PlayStation 2 game too.) Elemental parasites are your only friends. By grabbing these you can change your puny two bullet shot to a blast of fire or spread shot of freezing ice.

Baroque Shooting was only released for PCs and it looks fairly import friendly if you can track down a copy. If Baroque gains enough international acclaim Sting could port this to the PlayStation Network or Xbox 360 Arcade. Chances are unlikely, but it’s possible. Baroque Shooting only requires a Pentium 166Mhz processor with 32 MB of RAM.
