Angry Video Game Nerd II: ASSimilation Brings Fewer Death Blocks, Less Rage

Players who found themselves brutalized by the original Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures will find an easier (but still challenging) experience in Angry Video Game Nerd II: ASSimilation.

The Nerd, James Rolfe’s character from the popular online video series, once more wakes up inside a terrible game. Unlike the previous one, the challenge level is much lower, being something more players should be able to comfortably play on the Normal difficulty. The infamous instant death skull blocks, so prevalent in the first game, make far fewer appearances in this sequel.

In addition to its calmer difficulty, the game features a Mega Man X-like power-up system where new Nerd armor is hidden in the stages. These power-ups will let players break walls, glide, and find hidden blocks that will make their lives far easier.

Angry Video Game Nerd II: ASSimilation is out now on Steam.
