Animal Crossing: New Horizons Winter Update Will Add Save Data Transfers

Give thanks for a bounty of new Animal Crossing content. The Animal Crossing: New Horizons Winter Update is about to appear on November 19, 2020. In addition to the Turkey Day and Toy Day holidays, new features like additional hairstyles and reactions for characters will appear. You’ll also have 2,400 slots for items in your home, instead of being limited to 1,600. Oh, and finally, Animal Crossing save data transfers are coming.

Nintendo’s announcements first went over the holidays. Turkey Day, the Animal Crossing equivalent of Thanksgiving, will be held on November 26, 2020. It will add Franklin the turkey and offer a chance to help him make a holiday meal by grabbing ingredients. Pumpkins were shown as a thing to offer. It will be followed by Toy Day on December 24, 2020. That’s when Jingle will appear. You’ll help him deliver Santa’s presents to villagers. It seems like both holidays will have new furniture and items associated with them too.

There are other additions too. You will be able to spend Nook Miles on new hairstyles and reactions. The Top 6 Stylish Hairstyles will cost 1,800 Nook Miles, while Hip Reaction Collection will be 2,700. Among the new reactions will be Excited, Here You Go, Sit Down, Sniff Sniff, Take a Picture, Ta-da, Wave Goodbye, Work Out and Yoga. Also, the storage expansion will be something you buy from Tom Nook with Bells.

As for the Animal Crossing save data transfers, that long-promised process will be added on November 19, 2020 as well. The video didn’t get into it. However, it will be a means of backing up your save file to transfer to another system so you can continue to live in your Animal Crossing: New Horizons town with your character and neighbors.

Here’s the full video.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available for the Nintendo Switch. The Winter Update will be available to download on November 19, 2020. The next free update will appear in late January 2021. Pave and Festivale are being teased as part of that update.
