Animal Crossing: New Leaf Trailer Introduces Rilla The Hello Kitty Gorilla

Back when the Animal Crossing: New Leaf’s Welcome amiibo update was announced, Nintendo confirmed that Japan, Europe, and Australia would receive Animal Crossing x Sanrio amiibo cards. When scanned in, each invites a special villager inspired by characters like Hello Kitty and Keroppi to the campground. Once invited, you can purchase their Sanrio-themed furniture or ask them to move in. To help introduce these new villagers, Nintendo has prepared a video starring Rilla, the Hello Kitty gorilla. Rilla is a peppy Animal Crossing: New Leaf villager.

Animal Crossing: New Leaf and its Welcome amiibo update are available for the Nintendo 3DS. The Animal Crossing x Sanrio cards are available in Japan, Europe, and Australia. A North American release has yet to be announced.
