At the very end of the September 2018 Nintendo Direct, a new Animal Crossing game was announced. Tom Nook appeared to reveal he is preparing a place for people to come home to after they enjoy time spent camping and playing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Animal Crossing will come to the Nintendo Switch in 2019.
