While there’s still no sign of a Bloodborne remaster or an entirely new game, Sony announced that PlayStation Productions, Lyrical Animation, and Producer Sean “Jacksepticeye” McLoughlin will work on an R-rated animated movie. There’s no release window for the project yet, as only the general announcement came up at CinemaCon 2026 on the evening of April 13, 2026. This follows a number of supplemental follow-ups like a graphic novel

It’s difficult to tell what this movie might look like. This is due to Lyrical Animation being a new studio. Lyrical Media launched it in November 2025, following its acquisition of Line Mileage. Prior to that, there aren’t too many finished examples of what to expect from the studio. After checking online, one of the few videos seems to be the Death Stranding Mosquito teaser trailer. Back in September 2025, Line Mileage announced on LinkedIn that it would be assisting on the Kojima Productions and ABC Studios project.

In terms of Jacksepticeye’s work as a producer, a lot of it had to do with specials related to his own work. For example, he was the producer on the documentary How Did We Get Here. That followed his own growth as a YouTube creator. In December 2025, he announced he would be the executive producer for the horror movie Godmother.

As for PlayStation Productions, most of its films have been live-action projects so far. There was Uncharted in 2022, Gran Turismo in 2023, and Until Dawn in 2025. It’s also involved in the Resident Evil movie set to launch on September 18, 2026.

The Bloodborne animated movie is in development, the game is on the PS4 worldwide, and Titan Comics handled the graphic novel adaptation of the series.
