Animated Honkai: Star Rail Trailer Shows Dan Feng and Dan Heng

A new animated Honkai: Star Rail trailer featuring Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae and Dan Feng is now available via the various HoYoVerse YouTube channels. It focuses on the crimes Dan Feng committed (though we do not yet have all of the details regarding them), as well as Dan Heng’s determination to break free of his past. The members of the High-Cloud Quintet also make cameos.

It is also available in Mandarin, Japanese, and Korean.

In the trailer, Dan Heng and Dan Feng meet and discuss how Dan Heng is unable to escape his past. In all languages, Dan Heng and Dan Feng do not share a voice actor. The voice director for HoYoVerse has said in the past that this is to reflect that Dan Heng may be Dan Feng’s reincarnation, but the two are ultimately different people.

While we’ve had hints in Honkai: Star Rail as to why Dan Feng had to molt to repent for the crimes he committed, we still don’t know exactly what prompted him to try and steal immortality. The trailer offers a brief flashback to the High-Cloud Quintet breaking up as a result of this. But the scenes and voice lines lack a lot of context. More information on it may show up during Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae’s Companion Mission.

Honkai: Star Rail is readily available on mobile devices and Windows PC. PS4 and PS5 versions are in development. Version 1.3, which will be the playable debut of Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae in Honkai: Star Rail, will go live on August 30, 2023.
