Anycolor Finance Report Discusses Selen And Nijisanji EN

In a finance report that Anycolor published on March 14, 2024, Anycolor and its investors discussed the issues that occurred in 2023 regarding Nijisanji EN and Selen Tatsuki. It has noted a significant drop in interest and revenue for Nijisanji EN, and the report suggests ways of improving Nijisanji EN in the future.

While the native Nijisanji branch is doing very well and has not seen significant change, there is “room for improvement” for the EN branch. According to the report, there needs to be more support for the VTubers’ activities, as well as a more stable management environment. At this point in time, Anycolor does not seem to plan on reducing the number of livers that EN employs, and is instead trying to improve things behind-the-scenes.

As for live events in Japan, Nijisanji Fes made around 6.4 billion JPY in ticket sales. As mentioned earlier, Nijisanji still has a very strong presence in Japan. In comparison, Nijisanji EN’s sales dropped off compared to the same time period last year. Again, this likely has to do with the mishandling of the Selen Tatsuki situation. Anycolor suggests increasing the number of livers in EN, as well as thinking of more events that will excite the fans.

Tazumi states that there are fewer new livers debuting with Nijisanji than Anycolor initially planned. While the reasons for this differ between Japan and overseas, the main reason is that they did not train the livers enough. He states that one of the ways they can combat this is to train the livers on compliance with company regulations, as well as spending more time judging a potential liver’s personality. Helping them to foster that personality is also part of this training, which Anycolor is doing with VTA.

When talking about Nijisanji EN, Tazumi mentions that there is no VTA equivalent for EN, but Anycolor will spend more time teaching its future VTubers so that there won’t be any issues with schedules running late or issues with copyright compliance in the future. Working on management in order to improve things at EN is something Tazumi brings up later when an investor asks what he actually plans on doing for EN. He states that building trust with the existing talents is the way to build trust with the fanbase. It will improve the foundation of the management for the EN side, as well as plan out EN-wide content and events every few months.

Near the end of the report, an investor asks about the controversy that followed Selen Tatsuki’s termination, as well as the partial reveal of the IR report. Tazumi stated that it did lead to a delay in contents Anycolor had planned to provide, throwing off the schedule. He believes that they need to rebuild trust with the fanbase and provide content that will make them happy. In order to do so, he wants to plan large events and competitions that will excite the community. He also explains that Anycolor is working on hiring native employees who live overseas as staff to help with the company’s international branches.
