We’re going to begin seeing Expris’ WorkJam titles being developed and published by Arc System Works. The company has picked up the rights to Jake Hunter, Theresia, Nazo no Jikenbo, and Koneko no Ie. As a result, it is now working on Jake Hunter games for the Nintendo 3DS and mobile devices.

Jake Hunter: App Series will give people with smartphones an opportunity to play through past Jake Hunter games. They will be remade and rereleased through the application. It will debut in summer 2017.

The new Jake Hunter game is Jake Hunter: Ghost of the Dusk. A release date has yet to be announced, but it is being made in honor of the series’ 30th anniversary. The first game in the series, Jake Hunter: Shinjuku Central Park Murder Mystery, appeared on the Family Computer Disk System in Japan in 1987.

New entries in the Theresia, Nazo no Jikenbo, and Koneko no Ie series have yet to be announced. We’ve seen the Theresia series outside of Japan before, as the Nintendo DS entry in the smartphone series was released in North America as Theresia: Dear Emile in 2008. In addition, Koneko no Ie: Kirishima Ie to San-Hiko no Koneko, a port of a Nintendo DS game, was released on the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on October 26, 2016.
