The new Arknights summer excursion is titled “The Heart of Surging Flame” and is technically the second part of the event. The first part went live on April 15, 2020 and is currently running, but it’s just a point-gathering exercise with no narrative elements. The second part debuts on April 29, 2020 and is where the story and action are at, as the Operators of Rhodes Island take a trip to the ocean-side resort of Siesta. There, Doctors and Operators will kick back, cut loose, and pick their favorites out of the live acts performing. They’ll also tackle special event maps and challenge quests. Materials, goodies, and dorm furniture will be their rewards, as will an event-exclusive Operator, the 5-Star Medic Ceylon.

The headhunting gacha will also be updated with a new 6-Star Sniper Operator, Schwarz. In keeping with the custom for summer-themed events, the Arknights costume store will also be selling swimsuit costumes for a handful of Operators, including Vigna, Gummy, Skyfire, Sora, and Ifrit. Free costumes for Ansel and Matterhorn are up for grabs as well. A trailer from the Chinese edition of Arknights previews the costumes, as well as giving up a look at Ceylon:

Arknights is available now on iOS and Android. The event will go live on April 29, 2020 and run until May 13, 2020.
