Artist Behind Dig Dug & Pac Man Creates Visuals For Cosmic Cavern

Cosmic Cavern, a digging game that predated Dig Dug  that was originally released in the July 1980 issue of I/O Magazine in Japan, has received a massive facelift from its original artist for a modern release.

Hiroshi “Mr. Dotman” Ono, artist for Pac Man, Xevious, Dig Dug, and more classic games, has recreated the artwork for the classic game. He is joined by composer Yuzo Koshiro, creator of the soundtracks for Shenmue, Streets of Rage, and more, who has updated the game’s music.

Cosmic Caverns has one or two players digging their way through underground environments, deciding how they wish to drill to the goal. Featuring two arranged modes and the original version of the game, it is available now on Steam.
