Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was revealed at Ubisoft’s E3 2018 media briefing. In this entry, set in 431 BCE, around the Peloponnesian War. People get to choose who their Spartan hero avatar is. You can be either Alexios or Kassandra. (This does not seem to impact decisions or the story.)

Alexios and Kassandra both wield the Leonidas’ spear. This gives you special skills, allowing you to upgrade to get melee, ranged or stealth attacks. They can attack on foot or on horseback. The official announcement also notes there will be 150v150 soldier battles where Sparta and Athens fight.

In addition, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will have dialogue options. In a segment shown during the presentation, Kassandra and Sokrates talk to one another. The player gets to choose how to respond to Sokrates, even having the option to lie to him. The over 30 hour game will have multiple endings as a result.

Here is the world premiere Assassin’s Creed Odyssey trailer.
