Nyu Media has published Astro Port’s mech-based side-scrolling shooter ARMED SEVEN on Steam. It costs $4.99 at full price.

It’s set in 1989, 12 years after the Gogoh Army’s invasion of Earth, which enabled the planet’s technology to take massive leaps forward. A brief period of peace was had, which was broken only by the rise of underground militant organization Neo Loran Order.

Having stolen weaponry from the Earth Federation, the Neo Loran Order becomes a big threat, and so you head out across the game’s seven levels to blast them down.

You can customize your weapons with a range of options from streams of rockets to fast-firing green lasers. There are also four difficulty levels to beat, and the Steam version of the game has added achievements and online leaderboards.

You can download a demo of ARMED SEVEN on its website. It’s also available to buy directly from the creators, or GamersGate and Desura. A demo is also available [direct download]
