That whole European Nintendo eShop listing was correct. Marvelous Europe Limited confirmed the Rune Factory 4 Special release date for the region and Australia is February 28, 2020. But, that isn’t all. It also noted that the Swimsuit DLC is a preorder and Archival Edition exclusive add-on and that people who buy the farming sim and action-RPG within the launch window get another add-on for free. Update: XSEED Games has confirmed it will arrive in North America on February 25, 2020.
The second free Rune Factory 4 Special DLC is Another Episode. Once downloaded and added to the game, every one of the love interests gets an extra storyline. This is a new addition, and Marvelous confirmed that both English and Japanese voice acting will be an option for it.
People have a limited window to grab the Another Episode Rune Factory 4 Special DLC. It will only be available for free for about a month. Once March 26, 2020 arrives, folks who missed it will have to pay $4.99/£4.49/€4,99/$7.50 AUD for the supplemental stories.
Rune Factory 4 Special will appear on the Nintendo Switch in Australia and Europe on February 28, 2020 and in North America in 2020. It is already available on the console in Japan. Rune Factory 4 is immediately available on the Nintendo 3DS.
