Away: Shuffle Dungeon shimmies to Europe this autumn

AQ Interactive hasn’t announced the exact date Away: Shuffle Dungeon is coming out in Japan, but it’s probably going to be soon. Mistwalker’s second Nintendo DS game still has a floating summer target. Out of the blue Virgin Play, a video game publishing branch from Richard Branson’s Virgin Empire (Virgin Play let sent an e-mail explaining they have been independent since 2002) announced they will publish Away: Shuffle Dungeon in PAL areas (read: Europe/Australia).

Great news for Europe, but what does this mean for North America? As I pointed out earlier AQ Interactive trademarked the name Away: Shuffle Dungeon, which was the first good sign it’s getting localized. Also AQ Interactive’s financial statement pinned Xseed down as the publisher. So, it’s coming to North America at some point, we’re just waiting for an official date. However, since Europe is getting Away: Shuffle Dungeon in the fall, we should be getting it around the same time too.

Another interesting note is they are keeping the protagonist’s name as Sword, a literal translation of his Japanese name instead of localizing to something silly like Bob the Protector.
