Compile Heart recently announced Azur Lane: Crosswave, an upcoming 3D naval battle RPG based on the popular smartphone game Azur Lane by Shanghai Manjuu.

Here’s a look at its first screenshots:

Azur Lane: Crosswave has a story that revolves around the four nations of Eagle Union (United States), Royal Navy (United Kingdom), Ironblood (Nazi Germany), and Sakura Empire (Imperial Japan).

While the game is being called a “Naval Battle RPG,” it’s actually a 3D shooter that is different from the original Azur Lane’s sidescrolling shooter, but no further information on its gameplay is known for the time being.

Azur Lane: Crosswave is in development for PlayStation 4. Information on its release will be announced in the near future. Check out our previous report for a look at its first trailer.
