Yostar has begun to reveal new Azur Lane shipgirls for an upcoming new event set to start in late May 2021. The first new shipgirl introduced by the official Azur Lane Twitter accounts? The heavy cruiser, USS San Francisco.
The Japanese Twitter account described USS San Francisco’s shipgirl personification as a happy-go-lucky optimist who naturally exists to enjoy life. She will do anything she thinks is fun without even considering the possible dangers.
This shipgirl is based on one of the New Orleans-class heavy cruisers that survived World War II with 17 battle stars. CA-38 USS San Francisco will be the fifth ship in the class to join the Azur Lane roster. CA-34 USS Astoria, CA-36 USS Minneapolis, CA-39 USS Quincy, and CA-44 USS Vincennes had appeared earlier through prior events.
The upcoming Azur Lane event is set to begin on May 27, 2021. It will add new shipgirls from the United States-inspired Eagle Union. The currently ongoing preparation event, “Silver Archives,” mentioned a teaser for Black Dragon, one of the nicknames of the Iowa-class battleship BB-62 USS New Jersey. Manjuu and Yongshi will reveal more details on the event through Azur Lane‘s Chinese 4th Anniversary stream set to broadcast on Sunday, May 23, 2021.
Yostar had previously held a new event titled “Daedalian Hymn” from April 22, 2021, to May 6, 2021. This event added more shipgirls from the Italy-inspired Sardegna Empire. This included the faction’s leading flagship Vittorio Veneto.
