Since we’re on the topic of fighting games, Arc System Works released a fighting game with a fantasy setting in arcades last year. Despite being 2.5D and running Taito Type X2 hardware Battle Fantasia didn’t get much media attention.

Since the arcade version was only released in Japan most people reading Siliconera probably haven’t played it, but now you can with the help of a Japanese PlayStation Network account. Arc System Works uploaded a trial version of Battle Fantasia for PlayStation 3 owners that have access to the Japanese PlayStation Store.

There is an Xbox 360 version of Battle Fantasia in development too, but at this time a demo is not ready for Microsoft’s console. However, one is likely to appear at a later date. I doubt Arc System Works will back down on releasing a demo for 360 owners since they distributed one for Guilty Gear II.
