Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 owners hoping to play Battle Princess Madelyn as soon as possible will have to wait. The game has been hit by delays. The new release date for the Nintendo Switch version will be revealed within the next week, while the PlayStation 4 release is now set for December 20, 2018.
Originally, the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 versions were supposed to appear on December 6, 2018, the same day the Xbox One and PC versions would launch. However, an initial delay pushed the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 installments back to December 13, 2018. Now, both games have been pushed back again.
A reason offered for the Nintendo Switch version’s delay was Nintendo clearance. Once the game and its new submitted patches are approved, a new release date can be provided. Some of the patch editions include a help and hints system, which will do things like make Fritzy the ghost dog bark when he is near treasure, and more saves. (These patches have been appearing on a daily basis for the PC version.)
Battle Princess Madelyn is immediately available for the Xbox One and PC. It will be out on the PlayStation 4 on December 20, 2018. Nintendo Wii U and PlayStation Vita versions are coming in 2019.
