Be the star in your own Xbox Live TV show

While it’s great that you can download episodes of South Park and reruns of Aqua Teen Hunger Force the Xbox Live Video marketplace would benefit from original shows. Instead of working with a network to script an original series Microsoft is holding a contest with the New York Television Festival to find an aspiring TV producer. From April 16 to June 29, 2007 anyone in the 25 countries where Xbox Live is present can send in a 5-15 minute long pilot. Finalists will be selected and shown on the Xbox Live Video Marketplace in July and a winner will be announced at the end of the month. On top of getting fame from thousands of downloads the winning pilot will also net $100,000 to produce an additional six episodes of the show.
