Koei Tecmo has updated the official website for their upcoming Berserk Musou game from Omega Force with a look at new screenshots and system details.
Guts (CV: Hiroaki Iwanaga)
Was once a mercenary for hire, but joins Griffith and his “Band of the Hawk” after being defeated by the man. He took on the role of raid unit leader of the mercenary group. Following the end of the war and becoming an equal figure to Griffith, Guts decides to leave the group.
Griffith (CV: Takahiro Sakurai)
Feared as the death god of the battlefield, Griffith is the Band of the Hawk’s leader. He’s a young man with good looks and the charisma that attracts others. His dream is to have his own country.
Casca (CV: Toa Yukinari)
The only female member in the Band of the Hawk, who joined the group after being saved by her childhood friend Griffith. Ever since, she has devoted herself to the man and wishes to be his sword. She never got along with Guts since he joined, and they argue about everything.
Judeau (CV: Yuji Kaji)
A Band of the Hawk member. He’s skilled with his hands and can just about handle anything accordingly. When Guts first joins the group, Judeau tells him that he’ll likely find himself at home with the Band of the Hawk. Since then, they’ve shared a close relationship.
Next are some new system details along with some more screenshots:
In battle, you’ll see action that combines the intensity from both Musou games and the Berserk series. The more you fight, the more gruesome and brutal your attacks become as you take out monsters.
Similar to what we’ve seen from Berserk, we’ll encounter monsters called “Apostles” that have powerful attacks. Since these brutal monsters require a different approach from your regular monsters, you’ll need to work out different strategies to take them on as well.
In addition to the giant Dragonslayer sword that Guts uses, there’s a variety of other weapons such as cannons, explosives, bowguns, and throwing knives shown in the above screenshots among many others that will be available to use.
Berserk will release in Japan on September 21, 2016 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita. The game is headed Westward for PS4, PS Vita, and PC.
